ABOUT US / FACES OF TNW

E-mail

Trikone-Northwest is a vibrant, diverse group of individuals creating a social, supportive, educational, and political space for LGBTQ and differently-oriented South Asians and their family, friends and community.

By LGBTQ and differently-oriented we mean those individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer and those who choose not to accept a label or prefer other identities such as hijra, kothi, meti, men who have sex with men (MSM) or women who have sex with women (WSW).

Because TrikoneNW recognizes that there is not a parrellel community-based organization for our differently-oriented LGBTQ community members of Middle Eastern descent, we have opened up all of our events to this community starting Aug,2011.

To contact the board, please email info [at] trikonenw [dot] org.

Establishing a career, coming out, navigating a gay relationship, integrating my family into every aspect of my life and getting involved in community activism has kept me busy since. It has not been easy but it has definitely been worth it! More...

I currently work at the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Seattle University. More...

I am happy to be joining a group that gives a voice to those who have had to remain silent for so long. Ethnically I am half Afghan and half Indian. Raised in the US, I am eager to hear your stories of South Asia and learn more about my Indian roots. Seattle has been my home for the past 19 years. I have attended and sponsored events with Trikone for many years now, and have always walked away with a little more sense of self. I have my own unique story of having to be quiet and conform. I am excited to hear about the journeys of others, and in the process learn more about myself. More...
